Days 8-14: Falaflightenment
I cannot believe I only have one more week to go! It seems like only yesterday. Chris and I were recently recording an episode for the podcast and we discussed my recent progress on the Daniel Fast. Unfortunately the audio got corrupted, so you won’t get to hear about that particular discussion, but! I can tell you that at the end of this past week I have felt enlightened and content. I feel close to God and just in a euphoria. Now it could be due to a lack of carbs, or it could be the divine bromance I was looking for. Early on in the week I went through a quick phase of wanting a different taste on my palette other than the foods I had been eating. I remembered that I could have falafel and oh. my. gosh. It was soooo good!!! As you can see in the video (see below), I really enjoyed them. Thank you to my loving wife for helping me make them. At the end of the week I attended our weekly family dinner. I took my food of course and didn’t partake in the tasty look brisket and rice lingering around me. Later on in the night we played board games and played one of our favorites Pit. It’s based on the stock market and the point of the game is to trade certain resources until you have the most resources to ring the market bell. The ironic thing is the first round we played I won the round with Soybeans as my resource and a food I can eat on the fast. Then I won again with wheat and almost won for a third time with sugar. Probably for the best on the last round since I can’t have sugars lol. I am kind of sad I only have one more week left, but I am determined to keep this feeling alive past the fast!
Check back here for updates on my progress and let us know what you think about the Daniel Fast and your experiences with it if you have been through this experience before. – Justin
